Video Games and Movies. Luckily no one reads me.

After rereading through this, I recognized that I was probably extremely offensive to anyone who likes to play violent video games or gets a sick pleasure out of watching violent movies. So I'm just warning you now, I really don't care. Work just has me so bored I have to write something. Anything. Please save me.

Anyway.

I was raised watching movies with high ratings for sex and nudity long before I was actually able to understand what was going on. I was probably too young, and it probably led to me being me, but I far prefer my 'sex is normal' attitude than a 'violence is normal' attitude. For example, I couldn't see Jurassic Park until I was like 12 because it was violent. Actually, the ideas of dinosaurs going crazy scared me, but in general my mom just didn't take me to violent movies.

To this day, I get freaked out a bit by violence (especially with a lot of gore) in movies. That video clip the guy in my church class put together...very intense, to me anyway. I dunno. I think I'm babbling.

I should stop now.

But I won't.

Similarly, violent video games tick me off. Especially the parents who buy them for their kids.

I recognize that people need to blow of steam. It's even been studied and proven that less violence occurs in areas where more violent video games are played (my belief is that that is due to the socioeconomic status required to have the time and money to play violent games comes with nicer neighborhoods and more cops...but forget that)...but seriously. 12 year olds don't need to play games where they practice blowing peoples' heads of. I mean, come on. Give them a good strategy game (build logic) or something that is less graphic, more 'killing people is bad...killing demons/nonhumans...sometimes ok...' I dunno. I'm weird. I really need sleep.
